San Francisc Oh!

I happen to be a bit of an eye wear fanatic. I’m also highly particular about the things that appeal to me – so when I see something I like, I-will-hunt-it-down. I’ve been looking for glasses that are different than the dark chunky frames I usually wear. Recently I was watching the show Gossip Girl (don’t even ask why someone my age was indulging in adolescent television). I saw a pair of glasses and almost passed out from heart palpitations. Some research revealed that they were worn by the character Lily van der Woodsen and that they were the “San Francisco” frames made by a Belgian company called Theo. In true fashion huntress style, I had a local dealer order a single pair so that I could try them on. Needless to say I fell in love, took them home and lived happily ever after.

Greetings Earthling

As someone who’s been through my fair share of turbulence over the years, I’ve developed a good arsenal of coping strategies. Laughter is number one on my list. I’ve heard that children laugh around four hundred times a day, while adults laugh about fifteen. If this is in fact the case, I’m clearly a child. On occasion I may need a little help. Enter video chat effects. I highly recommend that the next time you’re feeling crappy, get on ichat, ping an old friend, turn on effects and let the hilarity ensue.

…And if you don’t believe me, ask this girl (and she’s by herself).

Crazy

About a year ago, I decided to start posting videos on YouTube mainly to get over stage fright. I’m not sure it’s actually worked because I can spend hours pointing out flaws in each performance and obsessively rerecording. That being said, it’s been a fun project over the past year. I’m not the most disciplined musician on earth so it’s helped me practice more and learn new songs. My next adventures? Writing music, improvising and hopefully actually finding the balls to get on stage. I hope you like.

Kind of a Hick for a Yank

More often than not, I wear cowboy boots. I love them because they’re comfy and warm and a little more flamboyant than plain old boots. You can dress them up or down and they can add a little detail to an otherwise boring outfit. They do clomp so you may sound like a grade school teacher coming to fetch a naughty student to take to the principals office (but it’s worth it). My favorite brand is Charlie One Horse by Lucchese, but there are lots of options. Enjoy!

Here I Go Again..

Happy January! In the interest of fresh starts and winter pick-me-ups, I’ve decided to give the old blog a refresh. I’m changing things up a bit because quite honestly I was getting sick of looking at stale rants from years gone by. I’ve found that as someone with more than full-time employment, the long entries about completely random subject matter was exhausting for this writer and I’m sure any reader. From now on, I’ll be focusing on my favorite things. I’ll be posting pictures and videos, limiting the text content and subject matter to things that people might be interested in like crafts, design, food and drinks, silly stuff, music and style. Hopefully it will become easier for me to keep up with and not a total snore for readers. Kiss kiss.
